This really is a beautiful town 🌿💚

📣 Wantage & Grove NHPT 📣
 

Over the weekend we were out on foot patrol around the nature reserve off Mably Way and through the alleyways of Wantage — and I’ll be honest… I fully unleashed my inner David Attenborough (happy 100th birthday for last week, Sir David 🎉🦋).

Now, before you get excited, the photos I took are almost the same quality as some of our cameras… and by that I mean it looks like I took them with a potato 🥔📸 
This is exactly why I’m a Police Officer and not an Attenborough cameraman. But even through my potato lens, the town still looked stunning.

We hear a lot of comments about “significant crime” in Wantage” and how “it’s not like it used to be”. And yes — some of that is true.
Our area has changed dramatically over the years, with big new housing estates and the challenges that naturally come with growth.

BUT… having worked in many other towns across the force, I can say this with confidence: Wantage is an amazing place to work and live 🙌💙

As your Neighbourhood Team, we believe we should be a real focal point of the community. 
We want you to know us, talk to us, approach us, and feel confident that we’re being open and transparent.

The more the community knows us, the better our relationship becomes — and with your information, we will act on it, and together we will get crime down 📉💪

That’s why we share what we’re up to and what’s happening in the area. It might look like more is going on here than elsewhere — but that’s not the case.
